    Farcical comedy of ‘Ed Opus (Rex)’
    propels it to one-act Sub-Section title

    Director Julie Brugman — now in her combined 20th year of assistant directing, codirecting, and directing Mt. Lake Public High School’s one-act play — couldn’t have asked for a better 53rd birthday present than she received this past Saturday.
    Mt. Lake and Butterfield-Odin
    will both experience the delay
    of school state aid payments

    Delayed aid payments to schools will affect most districts in southwest Minnesota — including Mt. Lake Public and Butterfield-Odin Public — with Butterfield-Odin among many districts seeing the postponement of almost their entire March and April payments until late May.
    Mt. Lake Public Schools will receive partial payments.

    Twenty-five area schools approve
    Flexible Learning Plan

    Twenty-five members of a 28-school consortium in southwest Minnesota have approved a Flexible Learning Year proposal, and have forwarded the application to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). Three member school boards did not vote to approve the plan.
    Mt. Lake Horizons to sponsor fund-raising meal
    Mt. Lake Horizons will be sponsoring a fund-raising meal on Sunday, February 14, serving from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at BB’s Diner in Mt. Lake. Guests may select either chicken or roast beef — and “all the trimmings.”
