Closed Mt. Lake City Council meeting leads to litigation The Mt. Lake City Council closed a portion of their special meeting last Friday, August 27, to consider legal issues concerning reconstruction of portions of the lake trail. Mt. Lake City Attorney Maryellen Suhrhoff reviewed the benefits of closing the meeting with members, and recommended that the meeting be closed based on attorney-client privilege. Federal Education Jobs Fund to provide one-time financial ‘shot in the arm’ The state of Minnesota submitted its application for the Education Jobs Fund money on Monday, August 30. The money was recently made available by the federal government. Minnesota will allocate the money to school districts and charter schools based on the state primary funding formula.
Although districts are excited about the cash, many share concerns about the long-term sustainability of that money.
