Action comes to a halt on Highway 60 four-lane project

All is quiet on the Highway 60 expansion front these days.

There are no more growling dirt scrapers and dozers crawling through the landscape between Mt. Lake and Windom. Crews from Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye are done with the project until early 2018.

The project is actually a bit ahead of schedule, now that part of the new lanes have been paved, at least the portion running from Mt. Lake to Bingham Lake. However, the Bingham Lake to Windom stretch still needs to be paved.

All four lanes should be ready to take traffic by the fall of 2018. For more on this story, see upcoming editions of the Observer/Advocate or Observer/Advocate eEdition.
