Economic development top story for Mt. Lake/Butterfield area in 2017

The Mt. Lake Economic Development Authority’s efforts led the list of top stories in the 2017 Observer/Advocate coverage area.

The effort to expand the industrial development area began in the fall of 2016 with the purchase of 26.1 acres of the Mabel S. Pankratz property. It was purchased by the city of Mt. Lake for $342,000. Once the land was annexed into the city limits, it was to deeded over to the EDA. The goal was to make the subdivision shovel-ready for commercial development.

The commercial park includes eight lots, a new roadway (Cottonwood Road) designed for truck transportation and a new road (Seventh Street) which connects to Cottonwood Road.
