An historic barn in the Mt. Lake area is in the process of being taken down. The large wooden barn on the Burton and Karin Stoesz farmsite has been a familiar sight for neighbors and others in the Mt. Lake area for over 90 years. The barn, built in the 1930s, is located approximately one-half mile east of the County Road 1 and 370th Street intersection. Waldo and Geneva Stoesz lived and raised their family on the same farmsite for close to 45 years. According to Waldo, their son, Burton, was 3 years old when the family purchased the farm.
